Artist Edition Archival Print, Rest

Created in Hannah Wynn Kendall's Sydney studio, Rest captures a quiet moment of return.

A solitary figure rests on a single seat sofa, eyes closed, allowing herself a pause. It is a reflection on the gentle truth that in order to support ourselves through change, we must allow ourselves to rest.

Part of an ongoing exploration of home, memory, and becoming, this piece considers the spaces we return to through life's wild seasons. Safe havens that exist not only in places but within ourselves.

While creating this work, Hannah reflected on her own experience of emigrating from London to Sydney. The tiredness, the love filled goodbyes, and the moments of wondering what she would miss most. In those quiet moments, she found comfort in knowing that the people and places we love continue to live within our memories and dreams.

Returning to the studio, to drawing, and to the simple act of making became a way of reconnecting with the present.

After weeks of testing and refinement, Rest has been reproduced as a museum quality archival print on 310gsm Hahnemühle cotton paper, chosen from dozens of options for its exceptional ability to honour the original work.

The rich black ink retains a remarkable depth, creating the impression that the drawing is still wet on the page. The luxurious texture of the paper allows subtle nuances to emerge, preserving the visible traces of the artist's hand, including the moments where the ink softens and the pressure lifts.

Each A3 print is produced to order and forms part of a truly limited edition.

Only prints ordered between 21 June and 28 June 2026 will ever be created.

No additional editions will be released, and this work will never be reproduced again.
