Artist Edition Archival Print, Becoming

Created in Hannah Wynn Kendall's Sydney studio, Becoming reflects on the quiet transformation of the body and the extraordinary experience of creating new life.

A kneeling figure rests in stillness, composed and reflective. The work emerged from a growing awareness of how our bodies adapt and change, often intuitively, without us fully understanding how.

To create life is to surrender to change.

At times, that change can feel difficult, lonely, and uncertain. There are moments when the body asks more of us than we expected, shifting in ways we did not consciously choose. Yet within that surrender lies something deeply powerful.

This piece is a meditation on that power.

A reminder that even on the harder days, there is strength in meeting ourselves with compassion. In encouraging both body and mind through periods of transition. In witnessing the quiet resilience that lives within us!

While creating this work, Hannah reflected on her own current experience of pregnancy and the profound relationship between change, trust, and identity. Returning to the studio and to the rhythm of drawing became a way of slowing down, listening more closely, and honouring the body for all that it carries.

After weeks of testing and refinement, Becoming has been reproduced as a museum quality archival print on 310gsm Hahnemühle cotton paper, chosen from dozens of options for its exceptional ability to honour the original work.

The rich black ink retains a remarkable depth, creating the impression that the drawing is still wet on the page. The luxurious texture of the paper allows subtle nuances to emerge, preserving the visible traces of the artist's hand, including the moments where the ink softens and the pressure lifts.

Each A3 print is produced to order and forms part of a truly limited edition.

Only prints ordered between 21 June and 28 June 2026 will ever be created.

No additional editions will be released, and this work will never be reproduced again.
