'How You Guide Me' is a painting inspired by old reflections of me as a child with my mother. Sat on her lap at Christmas time, as my present self paints between faded memories, guiding me in the moment. Symbols like the pigeon, moon, and Welsh mountains reflect the ideas of guidance and inspiration I have received as an artist.
My aim was to capture a dream like sense, the feeling I get whilst painting calling upon guides and memories like whispers through time.
This piece creates an interesting dimension, making the viewer feel like their witnessing the painting being painted in real time.
