When painting 'Tasmanian Light' I was inspired so deeply by the colours of Australia. The sunset light in particular is like nowhere else on earth.
I experienced these deep blues and vibrant yellows whilst exploring Tasmania. Whilst painting this piece I enjoyed finding the particular blue and green hues that translated my experience of the last golden rays beyond the hills before the night turns fully blue.
The richness brightens up a room, a small but powerful piece. These details plus the expressive brushstrokes that reminds me of the energy of the wildlife and nature Australia has in abundance. I’m very grateful to be in these special places, moved so deeply by the nature that surrounds me, and alchemise it into a piece destined for someone’s home who resonates too with such unique light, colours and movement.
