'The Things We Carry' is inspired by a moment in a luscious garden carrying little nephew in a wheelbarrow. Moments like this we want to cherish before they are grown and exploring for themselves!
It's name a reflection of the people, places, and memories we carry with us through life. For me that is emigrating living abroad and away from my family. Reminiscing on home and the moments we miss out on. It's also a nod to the past versions of those around us we want to hold onto. Like my nephews as they grow up, soon the youngest won't fit in this tiny wheelbarrow and the painting will be a memory of how he used to be before growing up. Something I choose to celebrate rather than mourn as children grow and develop from stage to next stage, we can encourage their exploration and continue to learn from their wonder and curiosity.
The vibrant greens work beautifully in a sunlit garden room or conservatory. Bring nature within the home and a sense of calm adventure.
